OPI DS Exclusive!

Today was a sunny summer day, so I wanted to try something holographic and get some outdoor shots for you! I decided to go with OPI DS Exclusive. It is the first time I am using this polish, and it was just as I expected. I absolutely LOVE this series, I am sad they are discontinued. Exclusive is one of the actual holographic Designer Series colors. They go on perfectly and top coat does not weaken the holo effect.

Here is a bonus rose shot!

You can still get DS Exclusive on ebay, but I happened to find this one in a salon. If you haven't tried dusty hunting yet, I highly recommend it. Please email me for tips or questions!

KOH Blue Universe!

Ask and you shall receive! Many of you wanted to see the KOH first, so here it is!

KOH Blue Universe is a dusty periwinkle blue that almost looks purple IMO. It has teeny silver glitter and is packed with flakies! The flakes are primarily pink, but also look yellow and green depending on the light and angle. This is my very first KOH, and I am really impressed with it. The brush was really easy to work with, the polish went on well but was a little sheer. I ended up doing 3 coats for full coverage. The flakes also go on smoothly and evenly.

Artificial light, no flash.

KOH is a Dutch brand, I received this polish in an international swap. However, Witoxicity did a really informative post on where and how to buy KOH. Check it out HERE.

OPI My Private Jet Comparison!

So how many OPI My Private Jet versions ARE there anyways? I have 3 in my stash, but I hear there are actually four or maybe even five?

I received some requests to do a comparison, so here is what I came up with...
(remember all photos are clickable to view larger!)
Holo version on left, Blue Flash in middle, Yuk Brown on right.

Holo, Blue Flash, Yuk Brown

Holo and Blue Flash (with flash)

Holo and Blue Flash

Blue Flash and Yuk Brown

As far as the formulas go, Holo is much more thin and runny compared to the other two. It is more sheer and needs almost 3 coats to look opaque. The other two are thicker and cover easier. Blue flash looks like a lighter brown compared to the Yuk Brown when dry. It also looks smoother than Yuk Brown. Although its kinda hard to tell a difference here in these photos. I do see a slight scattered holo in the Blue Flash version. The Yuk Brown just has silver flecks that seem to be a tad holo under certain light.

What did you think of this comparison post? Do you have any of these 3 in your stash? Or perhaps do you have another version of MPJ??

There are no words to describe the awesomeness of this polish... So lets just get to the photos!

Readers Choice! Illamasqua Phallic!

Last week you voted on which one of my Illamasqua polishes you would like to see me try first! Phallic won with 27 votes, 48% overall.

Phallic is a navy blue shimmer. It looks darker on the nail than in the bottle. The shimmer is also not as present on the nail versus the bottle. I experienced some issues with staining during clean up. I imagine when I go to take this off I will have the same problem, but worse LOL. I was also not a fan of the cap, it is a bit awkward to hold. However, the polish applied well, covered well, dried relatively quickly.

You can purchase Phallic, and many other colors by visiting Illamasqua's website or Sephora's website

piCture pOlish PMT!

Today is an exciting day in the blogging community! Many of us were chosen by piCture pOlish to participate in their "Blog Fest". We were all sent a different shade of thier Create-a-Scene polishes to review. I was sent PMT, which is a medium grey shade. The bottle says, "PMT reflects your mood for those grey days!" Today is a good day to wear it actually, its pouring down rain with grey skies (plus its MONDAY, no one likes Mondays lol)!

According to piCture pOlish...
our nail polish is better than chocolate! It's Australian Made, 100% fat free and has no artificial fragrances or flavours! A week on your tips and never on your hips!

This was my first time using the piCture pOlish brand. They are located in Australia, and is currently only available online to those of us in the United States. I plan on placing an order eventually, there are so many that I want! I love the names they chose, and the descriptions on the bottles. It is such a fun company!

The bottle is a nice shape, the brush was easy to use and to hold. The polish itself was a little on the thick side, but it applied well. I used two coats and followed up with CND Air Dry top coat for added shine!

Some more fun stuff from taken from their website...
