piCture pOlish Heavy Metal!

OH YEAZ Heavy Metal!

I am thrilled to finally have this polish! Special thanks to Amy in Australia for sending it to me in a swap! I absolutely LOVE rock music, especially METAL! And for a GLITTER polish to be named Heavy Metal, it was simply made for me!

piCture pOlish Heavy Metal is a metallic grey glitter polish. Yes, that is PACKED with glitter! This can be a one coater, but I (of course) used two! I am really impressed with this brand. I NEED more! I love the brush, and the way this polish applied. So easy to work with. As always with glitters, I topped it off with a layer of Gelous before adding Orly Won't Chip top coat.

Silly me cut all of my nails today though. They were getting too long for what I am used to, and I was afraid a break would happen. They are just nails though, right? They will grow back in no time! ;-)

piCture pOlish Heavy Metal retails for $9.90 and can be purchased on piCture pOlish's website.

Rock on!!

Nubar Peacock Feathers Mini!

Ahhhh Nubar Peacock Feathers, you are so beautiful yet elusive. Hard to find and hard to photograph.

Here is my mini Peacock Feathers...
Isn't it cute?

Inside this bottle is a galaxy of awesomeness...

This is one amazing polish. There are so many colors... purple, blue, green, gold, brown, pink and orange. That's almost an entire rainbow in a bottle! I had trouble capturing all of the colors though, I did this mani at night, no there was obviously no sun to photograph it in. :-(

You could use Peacock Feathers for layering, but I tried it on its own. For a duochrome, it applied well,  and I had no issues. I used 4 coats though, and these photographs are without top coat.

Yes, its true, Nubar Peacock Feathers has been discontinued. But alas, I found a website still selling the mini version! Nubar Nails UK has mini Nubar Peacock Feathers for $8.47. It is where I purchased mine. They do ship internationally, and pretty quickly. Shipping costs weren't too bad either. I would buy from them again. They have quite a few minis to choose from as well as full sized bottles. The full sized are more expensive than bynubar.com, but if you are looking for minis, or Nubar Peacock Feathers specifically, click HERE to shop!

Nubar Nails UK is also on Facebook! Click HERE.

Mattese Elite Cosa Nostra!

Ricky's NYC was kind enough to send me some of their new Cosa Nostra Mob Collection to review. This is their latest collection which features six "mob themed" colors: Goomah Comare, Vig, Whack, The Boss, Consigliere, and Capo.

This is my first time trying a Mattese Elite polish. I have heard about this brand and I was excited to try them out! Ricky's NYC sent me three colors: Capo, Whack, and The Boss. I decided to put them all in one post, something different from what I am used to doing! I hope you like it.

First up is Capo, my favorite of the three. Capo is a grey creme with silver shimmer. It applied very well, I only needed two coats. I followed it up with Orly Won't Chip.

Next up is Whack, my second favorite. Whack is a plum colored creme. Also went on well, and could be a one coater but you know me, I used two. It also dries super shiny, these photos are without top coat!

Followed by my least favorite of the three, The Boss. I am really disappointed with this one. I was looking forward to the shiny gunmetal look of it only to discover its a streaky frosty polish that bubbles! You can totally see every brush stroke and I got at least one bubble per nail. I think its an awesome color, but the streaks turn me off completely. Top coat did not help either.

Overall I think these are decent polishes for the price. I am looking forward to trying more of them before I form a final opinion. I am actually making a trip to NYC this weekend, and Ricky's NYC is on my list of places to check out.

Mattese Elite Cosa Nostra retail for $5.99 each and can be purchased in Ricky's NYC stores as well as on their website by clicking HERE.

Glitter Gal H706 Blue 3D!

Glitter Gal was kind enough to provide me with a few of their awesome polishes to review. I have heard so many good things about this brand, I was super excited to try them out!

First thing is the phenomenal holo effect! It is true, these babies pack a punch! This is the first time I have used a strong holo polish that did not have any application issues or a need for an aqua base! I am impressed and totally in love. The downfall is the size, its adorable, but teeny. They are only .3 fl oz, which is smaller than a typical nail polish bottle. However, it is because of the quality of the ingredients used. The price tag is a bit more too, but if you are a lover of holographic polishes, these are worth it. I am happy to say that I have since placed an order for 3 more colors since I tried these out!

I used Orly Calcium Shield for my base, followed up with 2 coats of H706 Blue. I did not use top coat in these photos, the polish is naturally shiny when dry. I later applied Orly Won't Chip topcoat, and the holo was completely unaffected. It didn't disappear or was dulled. AH-MAZING!

Thanks again to Glitter Gal for the opportunity to review these fantastic holos!

OPI Zom-Body to Love!

I should be asleep right now, but I am not. Two reasons...insomnia and Hurricane Irene! LOL The "hurricane" or I guess its now considered a Tropical Storm, is over us as I am typing this. So far its been pretty disappointing. I keep waiting for a big gust of wind, or something exciting, but it's just tons of rain. Hopefully the power doesn't go out, but if it does, at least my nails glow in the dark! ;-)

I thought that Zom-Body to Love would be a PERFECT choice for the occasion! I have been searching all over tarnation for this polish, and today I finally found it! Special thanks to FB fan Sarah M for pointing me in the right direction. I checked all the nail supply places in the area, and was going to resort to buying it online. But Sarah mentioned on my Facebook page that she found it at Hair Cuttery. I looked them up online and low and behold there are two in my area! And an even better surprise when I went there, they were on sale BOGO 50%!! So OF COURSE I bought two sets! With the sale they ended up being about $10 or so a piece. Not bad! Instant gratification, no shipping, and a sale! This made my day!

Here is a quick cell phone pic!

I heard this polish was pretty sheer, so I layered it over OPI Time-less is More, which ended up being sheer too LOL! Oh well. Next time I know to break out the good old standby Alpine Snow! So since I layered it over another sheer color, I needed 4 coats of Zom-Body to Love. It probably could still be a little darker, but  this will do for now! I did not add top coat to it, because I like the finish of it. Overall I really enjoy Zom-body to Love! I like the fact that its an actual color instead of just white for a glow in the dark polish. It is a lot of fun to wear, minus the fact that you need to apply a few coats.

Now for the fun part!
Just like any glow in the dark item, you have to "charge" it, by holding it up to a light source for a few seconds before it will glow. The glow didn't last very long unfortunately, but I still had a good time with it!

Oooh check out the bottle!

Here are my nails LOL

What do you think? Are you a fan of glow in the dark polishes?
