Happy piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2012!
Today is the big day, its time for piCture pOlish's annual Blog Fest! Approximately 80 bloggers from all over the world were chosen to participate. You may remember my post from last year's Blog Fest... I was sent PMT to review, click HERE to check it out! This year I received TWO shades, Mirage and Kryptonite! Both shades are part of The Collaboration Collection. piCture pOlish teamed up with a few bloggers and some of their stockists to develop new polishes! Mirage was created by Sara from Sara Hasan's Blog. It was inspired by a photo of a bird with magical plumage; described as a grey shade with a blue hue. Kryptonite was created with Cathy by More Nail Polish, she requested a true green holo.
Here are some bottle shots:

Let's take a look at Mirage first!
piCture pOlish recommends using Mirage over a dark base color. I decided to layer it over Barry M Indigo, which is a perfect blue-purple (blurple) creme. I have seen some other swatches of Mirage on its own and I think it looks nice either way. Mirage reminds me of a pearl, it is a white-grey shade with a soft shimmer that changes from blue to purple. It is on the thick side, which was a nice surprise. I expected it to be very sheer. I only needed one coat of Mirage to achieve this look. Application was good, there are some brush marks but they are not overwhelming. I followed up with a coat of Seche Vite.
Artificial light, no flash.
Now let's check out Kryptonite!
Kryptonite is super pigmented so I did not need to layer it over another color. It is a perfect shade of emerald green with lots of holographic particles. A squishy jelly with scattered holo effect! Application was PERFECT, so easy to apply, this is two coats without topcoat. I really like Kryptonite, it is my favorite of the two. I can see it being a perfect polish to wear around the holidays!
Artificial light, no flash.
I decided to spice it up a bit with China Glaze Cherish and Bundle Monster plate 309...
Also, piCture pOlish added QR codes to each bottle. Simply scan the code with your smart phone and it will take you right to the piCture pOlish website! How cool is that?!
What do you think of these two shades?
piCture pOlish Mirage and Kryptonite retail for $11.50 AUS and can be purchased from the piCture pOlish website or click HERE to view The Network for a list of authorized re-sellers.
