The Nail Junkie Halloween Collection!

Hello! My friend Aleta from The Nail Junkie recently announced 4 brand new polishes that are Halloween themed! How exciting!! Included in this collection are: Candy Corn, Pumpkin, Frankenstein and Black Cat.

Artificial light, no flash.

First let's take a look at Candy Corn! It has a sheer white base with orange and yellow hex glitters. I layered mine over white although the base is buildable and can be worn alone. This is two coats of Candy Corn over OPI Alpine Snow, with topcoat.

Next is Pumpkin, a shimmery orange polish with green glitter. Pumpkin has a great formula and applied well. I applied two coats even though one would be sufficient! These photos are with topcoat.

Frankenstein is a swampy shade of green that has a jelly-like consistency and a golden shimmer. The glitter is not as dense, which I think is nice. It also applied well, this is two coats with topcoat.

Last but not least is Black Cat, a sheer black jelly with several sizes of black hex and holographic microglitter. This one can be worn on its own or layered over another polish. I chose to wear it alone so I needed three coats. I recommend applying thinner coats to avoid pooling at the sides. These photos are with topcoat.

What do you think of this collection? Frankenstein is my favorite, with Candy Corn and Pumpkin in a tie for second. My least favorite is Black Cat, I am generally not a fan of black polishes... or cats lol. Dogs rule, cats drool!! ;-p

The Nail Junkie Halloween Collection retails for $10 each and can be purchased HERE.

Candy Lacquer Monster Mash

Fall is officially upon us! It is my absolute favorite time of year! Who else is excited?! It's also time for Halloween nail polishes!! Even better!!!

In my last post I showed you Illamasqua Poke. I thought it would make good undies for one of my new Candy Lacquers, Monster Mash. Sandra from Candy Lacquer is always creating new polishes (she kills my wallet lol) and recently added some that are Halloween themed. I love them all, OF COURSE!!

Monster Mash has a clear base with small matte hex glitter in green, orange and black. I *really* like this polish, and really enjoyed wearing this combo. It applied well, the glitter spread out nicely. This is one coat of Monster Mash with topcoat.

Illamasqua Poke

Hello, I have a layering combo to show you... first, let's drool over the base polish!

I used Illamasqua Poke... purple lovers rejoice! Poke is a bright, medium shade of purple with a beautiful white shimmer. It is one of my favorites by this brand. As expected from Illamasqua, it has a perfect formula. This is two coats without topcoat. I can't wait to show you what I added to it! Stay tuned for that...

Shimmer Tracy!

Previously I showed you Zoya Tracie. I decided to make Tracie even more Traci-er by adding Shimmer Tracy!! LOL

Shimmer Tracy is a gold/holographic gold glitter bomb in a clear base. I think the glitter mix is fantastic! So far, my experience with Shimmer polishes is that they are not too thick and not too runny. The glitter to base ratio is perfect! You could easily wear these on their own without layering. I had no issues with application, although I think I went a bit overboard with my glitter gradient haha.

Red Dog Designs The Original Series Collection!

Hi everyone! I have a very exciting post for you today! My friend Gina is launching her very first collection from her brand Red Dog Designs! She named it The Original Series Collection; based on a favorite television show of hers growing up. There are four polishes in this collection: The Temptress, The Engineer, The Doctor and The Captain. Each polish contains 5-7 glitters and is reminiscent of essential characters from the show.

Artificial light, no flash.

The Temptress is a green polish with a shimmery base and green glitter in several sizes. It also has holographic microglitter. I layered it over Zoya Meg. I had no issues with application, the glitter spread out nicely and lays flat. This is one coat with topcoat.

The Engineer has a red-tinged jelly base with red glitter and holographic microglitter. I layered it over Zoya Rory. No issues with application, this is one coat with topcoat.

Dammit Jim! Next is The Doctor, a blue polish with a shimmery foil-like finish, loaded with blue glitter and holographic microglitter. This is two coats with topcoat. Again, no issues with application. It covers nicely.

Last but not least is The Captain, a gold glitter polish in a clear base with holographic microglitter. I layered it over Zoya Carly. I think this one may be my favorite of the collection. Again, no issues and the glitter spreads out nicely. This is one coat with topcoat.

What do you think of these?

The Original Series Collection will be available starting this Friday, September 21st, 2012. Each polish will retail for $8. You can purchase them through the Red Dog Designs Facebook page HERE.
